The Neopte Foundation operates nationally in the United States. Our headquarters are in The Colony, Texas. While we are starting off within the Texas communities, we are always evaluating expansion plans across different communities.

There are many ways you can get involved with the Neopte Foundation. Join us as a volunteer, intern, or give a one-time or monthly donation.
Giving

Absolutely! The Neopte Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit public benefit corporation in the United States of America with tax exemption status under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email or letter donation receipt as your official record. We’ll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation.

At the Neopte Foundation, we ensure transparency and integrity when it comes to receiving gifts from donors. For more information on how your gifts are used, please visit our financials page here.

You NeopteFoundation.org/donate will receive either a mailed or electronic receipt. For donations sent by mail, you will receive a paper receipt. For donations made online at NeopteFoundation.org/donate, you will receive a receipt via email. We’ll also send a year-end giving statement to help with the preparation of your taxes. Gifts given through third-party platforms such as Facebook will receive an automated receipt emailed by Facebook to the email address associated with your Facebook account.

The EIN, or federal taxpayer number, for the Neopte Foundation, is 91-1950615. For easy location, this number can also be found on the very bottom of every page of our website as well as on donor receipts and end-of-year statements.

The Neopte Foundation receives funding from individual donors, community organizations, corporations, law firms, government agencies, and foundations.
Internships

In some cases we do allow the ability to work remote. While we prefer to work together in-person, it will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

If you’d like to receive credit for the internship from your academic institution, talk with your academic or guidance counselor to begin the process. We are happy to work with you to ensure you have everything you need to receive credit if available.

We expect that all interns to adhere to a minimum of 8-10 hours a week between Monday through Friday. However, we understand life happens and each instance will be handled on a case-by-case basis. If you have special circumstances. please submit the application and include this information in it and we will review accordingly.

Yes. Each intern is responsible for their own transportation to and from The Colony, Texas, as well as throughout the duration of the internship.
Please Note: Throughout your internship you may not need to come on-site. However, in the event you choose to do so, you must provide your transportation.

Unfortunately we do not provide housing or lodging for interns. We also do not provide food during your internship, however if you decide to come on-site, there will always be food available.

The old motto of “work hard, play hard” comes to mind. We emphasize teamwork, collaboration, and bringing new ideas to the table as we continue to grow and expand. And at the end of the day, we get to help those in need who want to pursue higher education!

We believe that partnerships make the world go round. Nothing is ever accomplished on our own, and it often takes a village to help us get to where we need to be. Volunteering

Volunteering is a great way to network and learn more about your local community. It also allows you to make a difference and have an impact on the world around you. Volunteers can donate their time, skillsets, and act as ambassadors of hope for the youth we serve. If you feel called to volunteer, we highly recommend you reach out to us and see how you can play a role!

Absolutely! Please reach out to our volunteer coordinator and we’ll be happy to provide proof of your volunteer hours.

Anyone over the age of 16 can volunteer with the Neopte Foundation.
Please note: For those under the age of 18 we adhere to Texas employment law rules and regulations.
The Neopte Scholar Fund

The Neopte Scholar Fund is a personal grant given on behalf of the Neopte Foundation for students from low-opportunity backgrounds to pursue higher education.

No. However, prior applicants may reapply as long as they disclose they are prior recipients, and meet the eligibility criteria.

Applications are reviewed by an internal committee with final approval from the Head of the Neopte Scholar fund. The fund itself is managed by donations given by organizations or individuals.

The award recipient will receive a check in the mail to be applied during the applicable semester. Checks not deposited within the applicable semester will be voided if not cashed and recipients will need to reapply prior to the following semester.

No, however you do need to be enrolled in a school in order to receive the scholarship. If you are not yet enrolled and will be enrolling at a later date, the funds will be forfeited and we will choose the runner up as the Neopte Scholar Fund recipient.

Whether you are selected or not, a notification will be sent out to the email address on file in your application.

No. The Neopte Foundation and any grants or scholarships awarded on behalf of the foundation does not constitute Financial Aid and is not in partnership with the United States Government, the IRS, or any other government agencies.
The Neopte Foundation Scholarship

The Neopte Foundation Scholarship is a direct scholarship set up and managed through a university or trade school in the United States to provide youth from low-opportunity backgrounds to pursue higher education. General requirements can be found on our neopte-scholar-fundNeopte Scholar Fund page and may include additional requirements based on the university or trade school.

Applications for the Neopte Foundation Scholarship will be managed directly by the University or Trade School. For more information on our current university's and trade school partners please check out our Partnerships page.

The Neopte Foundation provides universities and trade schools with the selection criteria and will periodically ask for evidence to ensure alignment.

Notification of the Scholarship award will be delivered by the university or trade school to the email address on file in your application.
